2nd concert![]() Music by J. Brahms and J.S.Bach Guest soloist: Monika Mauch (Germany) Saturday January 17th 2009 at 8:00 pm Redpath Hall, McGill University 3461 McTavish Street This programme takes an idea originally conceived by Brahms himself: melding an 18th century cantata with his own Requiem. Inspired by that particular historical event, Caprice aspires to reenact this experience for its Montreal audience by presenting the arrangement for choir and piano four hands by Brahms. |
3rd concert![]() Music by G. Ph. Telemann and Gypsy music of the 18th century Saturday, March 21st 2009 at 8:00 pm Redpath Hall, McGill University 3461 McTavish Street G. Ph. Telemann worked for a time in Eastern Europe. According to his own accounts, he was profoundly impressed by the musical universe of the Gypsies there. The audacity of the melodies, the instrumental virtuosity and passionate expressiveness of this music seduced this German master. |
